He has written articles for the Asia Financial Planning Journal, Law Gazette and has been interviewed by  the New Paper, Today and television on financial planning matters.  He has conducted financial planning seminars/workshops for financial services professionals and the public. He has also conducted Ethics workshop for members of the Financial Planning Association of Singapore (FPAS). He has also participated as a panel discussion member in the 8th Asia Pacific Financial Planning Conference.

Daniel graduated from the University of Queensland Australia in 1998. He has a Bachelor of Commerce where he finished with First Class honors. He majored in finance, macroeconomics and statistics.

Daniel's experience in the financial sector began with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the area of corporate restructuring, recovery and corporate finance, He then spent the next 4 years in capital markets transactions with DBS Bank and with Citibank. His capital markets experience include primary equity origination such as IPOs, Rights and Bonus issues as well as fixed income originations in the S$ market.

Daniel's other banking experience also includes stints in Citibank corporate asset and structured financing as well as real estate investments in Citi Private Bank.

He is currently a financial consultant with a reputable and leading life insurance organization in Asia and is actively advising clients in the area of risk management and financial planning.

Samuel TAN, B.Acc (Hons), CFA®

Samuel graduated with an honours degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University and is a CFA® charterholder. He is a member of the AIMR and the Singapore Society of Financial Analysts. For a few years, he worked with a foreign bank as a foreign exchange dealer, where he was involved in various treasury products, such as FX, swaps and options. He was also a banking consultant with an international consulting firm.

Since 1997, Samuel has been working as a fund manager in an asset management company, managing a fixed income portfolio. He is also a member of the company's strategy team that helps in making currencies calls and asset allocation recommendations. Samuel is an experienced trainer and has, in the past year, been involved in CFA® material development.
